Stay In

Whether you’re entertaining a bunch of guests or just a few, here are some helpful tips.

Have an Outdoor Space:

The weather will no doubt be beautiful here in Long Beach, so take advantage of the sunshine and relax outdoors. The added bonus is a cleaner house too. Set up a seating area outdoors, as well as a space to relax that’s shaded. Guests will likely end up hanging out indoors too, but it’s a good idea to have a central gathering space outdoors.

Food

Perhaps the most important part of entertaining is the food. Save yourself some time by going potluck style and asking everyone to bring a dish if you’re inviting a large crowd. Consider providing the main dish and asking others to bring the side dishes. This pasta salad is easy to make and will almost definitely satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Most importantly, you don’t want to run out of food. Fill tables with bowls of chips and other snacks just in case.

Drinks

Every good party needs a plentiful bar. Prevent guests from traipsing through your kitchen for a cold drink by putting ice coolers outside. Want to serve up something unique? This red, white, and blue sangria is sure to be a hit! Make sure to have kid-friendly drinks on hand too though.

BBQ

Add a Festive Touch

You don’t have to spend a fortune or a lot of time to enhance your space. Subtle decor touches like flower filled mason jars tied with a red and white ribbon will also go a long way in making your party feel more festive.

Conversation Starters

Often times the best conversation starters are activities. Corn hole or Jenga should do the trick!
