Long Beach 4th of July Celebrations

Let your freedom ring! Independence day is almost here and this year marks America’s 246th birthday. Whether you’re in the mood to see a spectacular firework show or run a 5K, there are dozens of events happening around the Long Beach and Orange County areas. Whatever you choose to do, show your patriotic spirit and enjoy the day of celebrating our nation!

Long Beach

Red, white, and blue is lighting up the sky this year! With a gentle reminder that fireworks are illegal in the city of Long Beach, there are plenty of safe and stunning alternatives. 

July 3rd Big Bang On The Bay Fireworks

Start your 4th of July celebrations early and watch the Big Bang on the Bay firework display! Be sure to snag your tickets early for this event, as it will likely sell out. If it does end up selling out, don’t worry, the display can be observed from surrounding sidewalks and restaurants. This light show can be seen from Naples, The Peninsula, and Alamitos Bay Marina. July 4th Queensway Bay Firework Show

The firework show in Queensway Bay is the main attraction in Long Beach city. This mesmerizing display can be observed from a few different locations for free:

  • Lions Lighthouse for Sight
  • Shoreline Village
  • Rainbow Harbor
  • Marina Green
  • The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center parking lot

Great American 4th Of July Kids Bike Parade

Justin Rudd is at it again, bringing this Long Beach traditional event back for another year! The annual 4th of July Kids Bike Parade will take place the morning of July 4th at 1 Granada Avenue in Belmont Shore. The festivities will start at 9:50 am with a Kids Patriotic Speech contest. The contest is free to enter, and kids must give a patriotic speech no longer than 90 seconds. $10 prizes will be given.  At 10 am the main event takes place – the bike parade! Though called the Kids Bike Parade, all ages are welcome to participate.  Following the bike parade, there will be the Kids Patriotic Costume Contest at 10:30 am. For more information, click here! 

San Pedro

July 4th Spectacular

If you are in the San Pedro area, reserve your tickets for the 72th Annual John Olguin July 4th Spectacular! This private party is the perfect place to celebrate with your family. Festivities will include music, family games and activities, food trucks, and more. Get your tickets here!

Cerritos

Let Freedom Ring Celebration

Join the City of Cerritos for the 49th Annual Let Freedom Ring Celebration! The day’s celebrations will be held at the Cerritos Civic Center beginning at 4 pm. The Firework Spectacular will take place at 9 pm, be sure to bring a blanket or chairs for the viewing. For more information, click here. 

Anaheim

Firecracker Run, Parade, And Fireworks

Over in Anaheim, indulge in a day of fun and festivities this 4th of July. The day’s events start off at 7 am at Santa Ana Canyon Road with the Firecracker 5K/10K Run/Walk. After the run, the Yankee Doodle Dog Show starts at 9 am, followed by the Patriotic Parade at 1 pm. For the afternoon, head to Peralta Canyon Park to enjoy countless vendor booths, food choices, live stage music, and more. Disneyland

Fireworks are back at Disneyland just in time for Independence Day! Enjoy a day filled with Disney magic, leading up to one of the biggest firework displays in Orange County. If you can’t get a reservation or don’t want to buy a ticket, you can always watch the firework display for free from Downtown Disney! The show begins at 9:15p.m. so Disney recommends showing up early (possibly 2-3 hours early) for a good spot.

Huntington Beach

4th Of July Celebration

Surf City, USA is known every year as one of the most popular places to celebrate the 4th of July. This 4th, there is an entire day of festivities planned to celebrate the holiday. Start the day with the Surf City 5k Run from 6:30 am – 12:00 pm. At 10 am, the annual Independence Day Parade will take place – the largest Independence Day parade west of the Mississippi River! After the parade, the festivities continue at the Pier with live entertainment, family activities, food, and more. The night will conclude with the fireworks display, which will begin at 9 pm.
