The Virginia Country Club is one of the nicest and best-kept secrets in Long Beach. This area features broad streets and large, stately homes. The architectural style and dates of homes built varies widely in this area, but includes beautiful examples of Craftsman, Tudor, and Mediterranean styles. There is also a small gated section within this area named La Linda, with homes that were built in the 1920s-1940s.

The neighborhood gets its name for the Virginia Country Club, a private golf course at the north end of the tract. It is also home to the Rancho Los Cerritos, a historic site featuring one of the few remaining two-story adobes in California.
