If you’re one of those people who doesn’t plan ahead, New Year’s Eve can sometimes sneak up on you.  You might have a tough time scoring reservations at a popular restaurant this late, but there are still lots of options beyond a quiet night at home with Netflix and an icy cold bottle of bubbly.


Join the Countdown at the Grand Park + The Music Center’s N.Y.E.L.A – Skip the endless search for the best and cheapest cover for a NYE event. Walk and stargaze – Go for an outdoor adventure with some friends. Watch the entire city lit with city lights and fireworks, and the sky lit by stars. Pick a spot along Bluff Park in Long Beach for a close-up view of the action, or perhaps Hilltop Park in Signal Hill for a birds-eye view.

Volunteer – Start the year with a good deed. Seek out charities in your area and offer your help.
