Own a lovingly renovated Airplane Bungalow in Rose Park!
Located in the Rose Park historic neighborhood, this rare two-story airplane bungalow has been beautifully updated. The 1,619 sq. ft. Craftsman home features a classic porch and an open-concept living and dining room with vintage architectural details plus a bright and efficient galley kitchen, three bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
The living and dining room feature original woodwork, including a built-in hutch, dark wood trim, wainscoting, ceiling beams with new and original brass light fixtures, and an oversized bay window with a built-in bench. Both the staircase and the gleaming wood floors have been recently restored.
In addition to two upstairs bedrooms and a classic bathroom with a clawfoot tub, there’s also a luxurious, remodeled master suite. The master, which offers direct access to the lush yard, features a laundry area and a luxurious marble-adorned bathroom with double sinks and a shower with a rain shower head.
The sprawling, park-like back yard features multiple outdoor areas for outdoor entertaining and pathways lined with massive redwood, eucalyptus, sycamore and magnolia trees, ferns, roses, and more. A detached garage combined with a long driveway provides off-street parking for up to four cars.
Originally situated in Signal Hill, the home was moved to its present location in 1922 after oil was discovered in the hills. It currently sits in a sought-after neighborhood within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and wine bars on Retro Row as well as the beach.

Rose Park
Named one of the country’s best “Old House Neighborhoods” by “This Old House” magazine, the area was named after the circular Rose Park at the junction of 8th Street and Orizaba Avenue. The park was dedicated to the City of Long Beach by the Alamitos Land Company in 1910 and many of the homes were built in the teens through the 1930s. There are two historic districts within the neighborhood and a host of historic Craftsman style homes, along with Spanish Colonial Revival single family and multi-family residences. Bounded on the west and east by St. Louis and Coronado and north and south by 10th Street and 7th Street, Rose Park is characteristic of Long Beach’s older residential neighborhoods. The Rose Park area is walking distance to 4thStreet’s Retro Row, which features many popular eateries along with coffee houses, wine bars, and a restored art theater.
