Rose Park

Named one of the country’s best “Old House Neighborhoods” by “This Old House” magazine, the area was named after the circular Rose Park at the junction of 8th Street and Orizaba Avenue. The park was dedicated to the City of Long Beach by the Alamitos Land Company in 1910 and many of the homes were built in the teens through the 1930s. There are two historic districts within the neighborhood and a host of historic Craftsman style homes, along with Spanish Colonial Revival single family and multi-family residences. Bounded on the west and east by St. Louis and Coronado and north and south by 10th Street and 7th Street, Rose Park is characteristic of Long Beach’s older residential neighborhoods. The Rose Park area is walking distance to 4thStreet’s Retro Row, which features many popular eateries along with coffee houses, wine bars, and a restored art theater.
