Ridgewood Heights is a small neighborhood that lies in the northern part of Long Beach. Its borders are made up of Cherry Ave. to the east, San Antonio Drive to the south, Atlantic Ave. to the west, and along the train tracks that lie just north of Del Amo Blvd. Surrounding neighborhoods include Bixby Highlands, North Long Beach, and Country Club Manor.
Houses in this neighborhood were built in the 1940s and early 1950s. Many of these were built as modest 2- and 3-bedroom homes, though many have gone through various remodels and additions since then. Lot sizes in this area range between 5,000 and 6,600 square feet. The character of these homes and the tree-lined streets add to the charm of this neighborhood.
Ridgewood Heights is home to Bixby Knolls Park and Barton Elementary School. It is within close proximity to Cherry Park, Scherer Park, shopping centers, restaurants, and the 710 freeway.
