Learn more about Del Lago
The Del Lago neighborhood is one of the few gated areas in Long Beach. It is located next to the neighborhoods of Bay Harbour, Bixby Village, and Alamitos Heights. The bordering streets are made up of Colorado St. to the north, Pacific Coast Highway to the east, Loynes Dr. to the south, and Bellflower Blvd. to the west. This small tract of homes consists of 125 single-family residences, all built between 1978-1985, making this area newer than many other Long Beach neighborhoods. These homes are fairly large by Long Beach standards, between 2,400 and 3,000 square feet, and sitting on lots between 3,500 and 4,500 square feet. Homes are mainly the classic Spanish Mediterranean style. This neighborhood prides itself with a close sense of community. Because it is such a small and gated area, neighbors really have a chance to get to know each other, and kids can be seen playing together on the wide streets and spacious greenbelts. Partially within Del Lago is Sims Pond, an ecological preserve created in 1979. This preserve helps give this city neighborhood a small-town feel. More information regarding this area can be found on their very active neighborhood association website: http://www.dellagohoa.org/default.php
