The Bixby Highlands neighborhood of Long Beach is a small community within the larger area of Bixby Knolls. It lies just north of the Bixby Terrace area and south of Ridgewood Heights – between San Antonio Dr. on the north, Carson on the south, Orange Ave. on the west and Cherry Ave. on the east. Many of the homes within this area were built within just a few years of each other – between 1942 and 1944. Home styles are comparable with those in Lakewood, but on slightly bigger lots. Homes in Bixby Highlands sit on an average of 6,000 square feet while the average lot size in Lakewood is 5,000 square feet. This small neighborhood is full of charm, character, and plenty of tree-lined streets. It is conveniently located near the 405 and 710 freeways, and is home to half of Cherry Park (the other half is technically within the Lakewood boundaries).
