Here in Long Beach, we’re spoiled with a smorgasbord of delicious and culturally diverse cuisine. But sometimes, a burger really hits the spot. To help you prepare for National Hamburger Day on May 28th, here are some of our favorite burger spots around Long Beach.
Crack
Looking for a burger that will completely change your outlook on life? Head on over to Crack, a hidden gem that’s inconspicuously located inside the gift shop of the Bixby Village Golf Course. That’s right… You may be thinking, “what an odd location to grab a bite to eat” but the word around town is that they serve up the best burger in Long Beach! Try sinking your teeth into the Dirty Burger or the Bacon Jam Burger, the two highest-rated burgers on the menu. (714)561-7165 – 6180 Bixby Village Dr Long Beach, CA
MVPs Grill & Patio
Hands down, the most popular burgers at MVP’s are the George Foreman III Burger and the George Foreman V Burger. The George Foreman III Burger is no-frills bacon and cheeseburger, with two 1/3 lb. patties. Can’t go wrong. The George Foreman V Burger gets a little bit fancier by adding avocado, bacon, and cheese onto those two delicious 1/3 lb. patties on a sesame bun with their famous Cajunaise dressing. You can dine in or carry out your burgers, or hang out next door at O’Connell for a beer and to catch a game, and they will bring your food over to you there. Simmzy’s
2nd Street in Belmont Shore is a great place to shop around, people watch and snag a mouthwatering burger. Simmzy’s is a popular pub is located on the corner of 2nd Street and La Verne Avenue. They offer a number of burgers to choose from, but you can’t go wrong with the classic Simmzy’s Burger. Another popular choice is the Bacon Blue Deluxe Burger if you’re a fan of blue cheese. Dave’s Burgers
While Dave’s Burgers is located in a gas station parking lot, don’t let that deter you from stopping in for a delicious cheeseburger for National Burger Day. Your options include a regular classic cheeseburger or the larger Jumbo Cheeseburger that comes with grilled onions, tomato, and lettuce. They are also famous for their Jumbo Cubby burger that has a sliced hot dog on it–and also cheese so it “counts” for this special day. This isn’t a “choose your toppings and temperature” type burger joint, but it still packs tons of delicious flavor. (562) 424-3340 – 3396 Atlantic Ave Long Beach, CA
Congregation Ale House
They may be the “house of beers,” but what goes better with beer than a tasty burger? Do yourself a favor and try out their Cali-Classic Rib-Eye Burger to take celebrating National Burger Day to the next level. Their side dishes and appetizers are always crowd-pleasers – you could start off your burger meal with some beer cheese nachos or carnitas fries. (562) 432-2337 – 201 E Broadway Ave Long Beach, CA
