In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, here is a list of our favorite Long Beach spots to grab a delicious, ooey-gooey cheeseburger.

Pig Pen Delicacy

Pig Pen Delicacy has successfully taken traditional American comfort food to the next level. While they mostly focus on pork-based menu items, one of the offerings that have gotten them on the map, and is next-level National Cheeseburger Day worthy, is the Mac Daddy Burger. Served between their signature Man’N Cheese Buns are candied bacon, American cheese, and BBQ sauce on a 1/3 lb. beef patty. They have a more traditional cheeseburger too. Why not just try both (562) 676-4021 – 3768 Long Beach Blvd Long Beach, CA

MVPs Grill & Patio

Hands down, the most popular cheeseburgers at MVP’s are the George Foreman III Burger and the George Foreman V Burger. The George Foreman III Burger is no-frills bacon and cheeseburger, with two 1/3 lb. patties. Can’t go wrong. The George Foreman V Burger gets a little bit fancier by adding avocado, bacon, and cheese onto those two delicious 1/3 lb. patties on a sesame bun with their famous Cajunaise dressing. You can dine in or carry out your burgers, or hang out next door at O’Connell for a beer and to catch a game, and they will bring your food over to you there. Dave’s Burgers

While Dave’s Burgers is located in a gas station parking lot, don’t let that deter you from stopping in for a delicious cheeseburger for National Cheeseburger Day. Your options include a regular classic cheeseburger or the larger Jumbo Cheeseburger that comes with grilled onions, tomato, and lettuce. They are also famous for their Jumbo Cubby burger that has a sliced hot dog on it–and also cheese so it “counts” for this special day. This isn’t a “choose your toppings and temperature” type burger joint, but it still packs tons of delicious flavor.   (562) 424-3340 – 3396 Atlantic Ave Long Beach, CA

Prime by Shenandoah

PRIME by Shenandoah is a new concept built on the sturdy foundation of beloved local comfort food restaurant Shenandoah, opened over 30 years ago by Rick and Jill Wilson in the Naples section of Long Beach, California. It spent decades on 2nd street in Belmont Shores and is currently located in Los Alamitos at The Arbor.

We are called PRIME because we strive to use only the most prime ingredients, sourced locally and responsibly through farmers markets and small independent purveyors. We use only compostable, sustainable plastics and recycled paper in order to leave as little impact as possible on the environment. We aim to provide the freshest and friendliest possible dining experience for our guests upon every visit.  (562) 439-0605 3701 E 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90814

Congregation Ale House

They may be the “house of beers,” but what goes better with beer than a tasty cheeseburger? The rib-eye cheddar burger and double rib-eye cheddar burgers are both great choices if you’re looking to take celebrating National Cheeseburger Day to the next level. They also have traditional cheeseburgers that are fairly customizable–and their side dishes and appetizers are always crowd-pleasers. You could start off your cheeseburger meal with some beer cheese nachos or cheese board. (562) 432-2337 – 201 E Broadway Ave Long Beach, CA

Jim’s Burgers

You’ll easily be able to satisfy your National Cheeseburger Day obligation at Jim’s Burgers. The jalapeno swiss burger is great if you’re looking for something spicy, the western bacon cheeseburger has that classic bacon and cheese combo, and the chili cheeseburger will guarantee that you won’t go home hungry. Treat yourself with a plate of their amazing fries too, like 502 fries, L.B.C. fries, and Opa fries. (562) 342-4834 – 3639 E 7th St Long Beach, CA 90804
