The past year has been tough on all of us! However, women, and moms in particular, have borne the brunt of our new normal. Therefore, mom deserves some extra spoiling this year! Here are some fun suggestions for things to do in and around Long Beach for Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day Brunch at the Historic Bembridge House
This year you can celebrate Mother’s Day at an iconic historic home! The historic Bembridge House will be hosting a gourmet brunch that includes an omelet station, eggs benedict, a carving station, crab legs, and more. In addition, one free mimosa per person is included. Tickets range from $20-$60.
Visit the Aquarium of the Pacific
While visiting the Aquarium of the Pacific isn’t Mother’s Day specific, it’s a great, family-friendly outing. It is now fully open and you can see a variety of animals from sea otters, sharks, jellies, frogs, and more! Be sure to get tickets in advance though, as they are limited and will book up!
Modern Makers Mart
Take your mom to this outdoor market hosted from 11-3 PM on Saturday, May 8th. Located at the Pine Avenue Pedestrian Walk (460 Pine Avenue) this free event will feature live music, a photo booth, and locally crafted goods. Additionally, Romeo’s Chocolates and the Pie Bar will have some sweet treats ready! More information HERE!
Long Beach has so many great spots for a Mother’s Day picnic. Settle in with an ocean view at Bluff Park, or visit one of Long Beach’s many parks. Other great spots for a picnic include Lion’s Lighthouse in Downtown Long Beach, the park at Marine Stadium, the Nature Center, and more!
Beyond Long Beach
Long Beach isn’t the only spot with great Mother’s Day activities. Surrounding areas also have some upcoming events worth checking out.
Sip ‘n’ Succs
Soulful Succulents in Laguna Hills will be hosting a Mother’s Day event on May 1st. Bring your mom to create a wooden succulent arrangement taught by experts. It doesn’t hurt that there will be some wine on the side too! Tickets are $40.
